New Business Executive

  • Salary: £25,000 plus incentives

This role’s main responsibility is to drive the creation of high-quality leads for sales nurture. The New Business Executive communicates clearly across the business, employing full use of the company’s marketing stack and records all activity in Salesforce CRM.


  • Work with the sales and marketing team to identify new markets in line with LEO’s new business strategy
  • Work with Sector leads to research and qualify potential companies and prospects from multiple sources, including: social media, dormant accounts, competitor client information, news and top company lists
  • Attend client meetings where requested
  • Continually evaluate LEO’s target demographic for new business leads
  • Work within the marketing team to generate leads through campaigns that deliver efficiency gains and drive achievement of sales targets
  • Answer and respond to all incoming telephone leads
  • Execute cold calling, social and email campaigns to qualify prospects into leads
  • Design a handover process on sales qualification, effectively communicating prospects’ needs and requirements to the Solutions Consultant or Account Director nurturing the new lead
  • Capture client data in Salesforce CRM, maintain accurate records and activity reports at all times
  • Attend required sales meetings, providing management information as required
  • Feedback market insight to LEO’s marketing, sales and management teams
  • Support the marketing team in the creation of campaigns, report on the trends and interests of the market for use in key messaging
  • Nurture existing ‘cold’ leads – executing re-engagement campaigns as agreed
  • Support LEO’s events strategy, promoting attendance to online and physical events
  • Nurture leads generated from gated content and events
  • Utilise the company’s marketing stack for insight into website visitors and activity
  • Arrange meetings with sales members to identify areas for growth

Skills and knowledge

  • Proven success at prospecting for new business
  • Experience with data-gathering using a variety of tactics
  • A thorough understanding of market mapping
  • Excellent understanding of service-based B2B sales cycle and process
  • Understanding of marketing best practice
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A tenacious individual with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Ability to work with third party applications
  • Experience with marketing platforms advantageous
  • Experience pitching to external stakeholders
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders
